Trainee Camp Support Positions – Turraburra Station

FNP Recruitment is seeking expressions of interest from Indigenous applicants interested in trainee support roles at Turraburra Station, an Indigenous ranger and land management site near Aramac, Queensland.

The available trainee pathways include:





Trainee Camp Cook



Trainee Cleaner



Trainee Grounds Maintenance Worker

These roles will support the day-to-day operation of the ranger camp and help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised environment for rangers, staff, visitors, and training activities.

Work may include preparing meals, maintaining camp accommodation and shared facilities, cleaning kitchens and amenities, caring for lawns and outdoor areas, basic property maintenance, and assisting with general camp duties.

These positions suit reliable people who are willing to learn, work as part of a team, and contribute to the care of an important cultural and environmental property.

Training and practical workplace experience will be provided. Applicants must be comfortable working in a rural and remote environment and following workplace safety protocols.

Requirements

Applicants do not need previous experience in the role, but must be willing to learn, follow instructions and take part in workplace training.

Successful applicants will need to:

  • Be reliable, punctual and ready to work

  • Work respectfully as part of a team

  • Follow workplace health and safety requirements

  • Respect cultural protocols, site rules and restricted areas

  • Be comfortable working in a rural and remote environment

  • Complete practical tasks and maintain a reasonable level of fitness

  • Maintain a clean, safe and professional work area

  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, rangers and other staff

  • Be willing to complete any required training, licences or checks

  • Must have car licence

  • Must be willing to undertake new tasks and take direction

A driver licence, First Aid Certificate, Blue Card or previous experience in cooking, cleaning, gardening or property maintenance may be an advantage but is not essential unless specified for the role.

About the Company

About Us

Turraburra Station is an Indigenous-owned cultural and environmental property near Aramac, Queensland. It is home to the Iningai Ranger Program and supports practical land management, cultural heritage protection, ranger training and community-based employment.

The site includes ranger accommodation, shared camp facilities, work areas and extensive natural and cultural landscapes. Staff work together to keep the property safe, clean, organised and ready for ranger activities, training, visitors and cultural programs.

These trainee positions form part of the wider Turraburra team. Each role helps the ranger program operate effectively and supports the long-term care of the property, its people and its cultural values.
